Marriage is a God's Creation

"Marriage is not a human invention, is the creation of God, it did not originate in the mind of man, but in the mind of God. Such being the case, man can not change the setting or the purpose of marriage to suit. A redefinition of marriage is the denial of marriage. " (William Einwechter)

~~~~~~
"Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said," This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called 'woman', for she was taken out of man. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
(Genesis 2: 22-24)
    ~~~~~~

"When a couple says their vows, is not a man or a woman or a pastor or parent who is the main actor - the main hurt. God is. God joins a husband and wife one flesh Union. God does this, the world does not know it, which is one reason why marriage is considered so casually. And Christians often act as if they do not know, that is one reason that marriage in the Church is seen as the wonder . Marriage is Gods doing because it is a union of one flesh that God does. "

(John Piper) "

      ~~~~~~
... "And the two shall become one flesh. 'So they are no more twain, but one flesh."
(Mark 10:8)
    ~~~~~~

"Marriage is a call to die [self] ...... Christian marriage vows are the beginning of a lifelong practice, of death, not only about giving everything you have, but all you are. This is a sinister force called? By no means! Is not darker than dying to self and following Christ. Indeed, those dying with love for their [spouses] are those who know the joy of the majority, weddings and more rewarding experience the greatest love. "
(R. Kent Hughes)
