Roasted Chicken

By Lori

This is a staple in my home.  I make it about every four days and use it on top of salads, sandwiches, stir fry and soups.  When I am done taking all the chicken off, I use the bones, skin and drippings to make a yummy broth.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

1 whole chicken
Take out the innards and give to pets or throw out.
Place the chickens in a large baking pan.
Rub olive oil all over them.
Salt and black pepper them liberally.
Season with garlic powder and thyme or you can use any seasonings you like.  Leave marinating for some hours.

Put in heated oven  and  cook 1 and 1/2 hours.
Set on counter and cover with tin foil for 20 minutes.

Enjoy!  I eat the skin and all.  You can make mashed potatoes and use the drippings to make great gravy.

Drink lots of water

"When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4.7-14)

We can not live without water. Nor can we truly live now or forever without the living water that we have received the knowledge of Jesus Christ as our Savior. We can drink your living water today.

Graceful and powerful Savior
Source of all that lives
Satisfies my thirst with living water
Water clear and pure living.

Only Jesus, the Living Water, can satisfy
our thirsty soul.

FLOWERS FOR FLOWERS

 It's so nice to have our house decorated with flowers.

 Women ... always have a vase, an arrangement, a plant ... to embellish, bring nature into your home.

Husbands, boyfriends, children, friends,... if you do not have the habit of always from time to time, give flowers to women in your life, make it a habit. It's so nice when we receive flowers from who we love. Since our first date my husband gave me a little arrangement of flowers, and still nowadays, once in while he gives me some. I love to receive flowers. But sometimes we can buy for ourselves.

May our homes be an oasis of peace and grace!
May we  make our home a heaven.
Amen

God bless you!

The Daily Devotional

The Daily Devotional is an intimate time we devote to be alone or with family with God, to hear His voice and know His will. It is paramount to grow in faith and build up our home and our being on the  Christ Rock.

There are several ways to make a Daily Devotional I wrote here as my husband and I have done, but each one may have their own inspiration and how best to realize it.

Nowadays we are using the devotional booklet: Our Daily Bread, which is helping us also to read the Bible In One Year.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN A DEVOTIONAL

READING THE WORD: When we started  to practice the Daily Devotional we chose randomly, a chapter of Scripture, but now we will read chapters followed. For example start with Matthew chapter one the first day and the second will read the second day and so on, until we complete the reading of all the Gospels and after the Old Testament and the whole Bible. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God."

The Word opens your eyes, makes the weak be strong again, renewed, instructs, brings out flaws and make necessary cuts, driving in all decisions to be made. You can read the morning just a verse and then the night reading the entire chapter.  The best is to do the all Devotional at the morning to start the day with strength. Only the Word of God has the power to completely renew our minds and our lives. If you have never read the entire Bible, put this as a goal for your life.

WHAT MUST WE DO TO BE SAVED AND RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE?

- Believe the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) that Jesus died for your sin, was buried, and has risen from the grave. (Mark 16:16)

- Confess that Jesus is the Son of God.(Acts 8:37) (Romans10:9-10)
- Repent of the sin inyour life.(Luke 13:3) (Acts 2: 38)

- Be baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of your sin. (Acts 2:38)

- Be faithful until death (Matthew 10:22) (Revelation 2:10)

Thank you Jesus, we have receive eternal, true life!

 "You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God".(Colossians 3.1)

It is amazing that we can receive the abundant and eternal Life that Jesus gives us daily! Praise the Lord we can be so blessed! Thank you Jesus! We love you! We will praise you for all eternity!
Some people think that we will receive the eternal Life only in the eternity, but it is not true according to the Word:

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent". (John 17.3)

 If we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and if we are in His Word WE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE! When we know Him, the only and enough Savior and Lord God, Jesus Christ, we know the eternal life!

Thank you Jesus you took all our diseases on the cross as it is in Isaiah 53.4 and 1 Peter 2.24! We are healed and we have full life!

I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME, THOUGH HE WERE DEAD, WILL LIVE. AND WHOSOEVER LIVE AND BELIEVE IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE" (John 11:25-26).
I do not have words to praise you! I just would like to show I am not shame of the Gospel because it is the power of the Lord to save everyone who want to be save!

PRAISE THE LORD! I HAVE ETERNAL LIFE! TRUE LIFE!

 I will never die, spite of my body will be dead, I will live and if I am living and believing in Him I shall never die! You can have eternal life also! (Click here to see how).

I love you Jesus, with all my heart, mind and soul!

Seek first His Kingdom

"If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own". (Mathew 6.30-34)

May the Lord bless and protect you with His Kingdom.

Marriage is a God's Creation

"Marriage is not a human invention, is the creation of God, it did not originate in the mind of man, but in the mind of God. Such being the case, man can not change the setting or the purpose of marriage to suit. A redefinition of marriage is the denial of marriage. " (William Einwechter)

~~~~~~
"Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said," This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called 'woman', for she was taken out of man. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
(Genesis 2: 22-24)
    ~~~~~~

"When a couple says their vows, is not a man or a woman or a pastor or parent who is the main actor - the main hurt. God is. God joins a husband and wife one flesh Union. God does this, the world does not know it, which is one reason why marriage is considered so casually. And Christians often act as if they do not know, that is one reason that marriage in the Church is seen as the wonder . Marriage is Gods doing because it is a union of one flesh that God does. "

(John Piper) "

      ~~~~~~
... "And the two shall become one flesh. 'So they are no more twain, but one flesh."
(Mark 10:8)
    ~~~~~~

"Marriage is a call to die [self] ...... Christian marriage vows are the beginning of a lifelong practice, of death, not only about giving everything you have, but all you are. This is a sinister force called? By no means! Is not darker than dying to self and following Christ. Indeed, those dying with love for their [spouses] are those who know the joy of the majority, weddings and more rewarding experience the greatest love. "

Homemade Tomato Sauce

 I'm so glad that I got it to make a delicious tomato sauce as the Italian mamas does!

Since that "I can remember", we used canned sauces done which we buy in groceries. My mama did not have time to spend hours and hours making sauce, because she had to work to have money to take care of me and my brother, since my father passed away so early, I was 7 years old. But... since nobody is orphaned of God, I have been immensely blessed because the Lord turns up seemingly bad things in blessings! Here I share this delicious recipe for Homemade Tomato Sauce. This recipe is for about a liter, but you can fold it to make larger quantities and  to freeze. You just need to be patient because you will need at least 2 hours or more to have it done!

We need to recover the pleasure of waiting "things" be ready and on point. Nowadays everything is so disposable, we want everything to "yesterday", which ends up creating much anxiety if we do not have all the time, all ready!

Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 medium chopped onions, grated
- 3 small garlic clove, finely chopped
- 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 2 kg of mature tomatoes (about 15 fine red tomatoes)
- 1 sheered  carrot
- 1 liter of water
- 1 bay leaf
- Basil to taste,
- salt and pepper to gusto

The seeds of tomatoes can be removed by cutting from top to bottom, or you can leave them.
Chop the tomatoes and set aside.
 Chop the onions, garlic and celery.
Bring a large pot over high heat and melt the butter.
Add the chopped onions and garlic, stir well and add the celery.
Add the tomatoes slowly, about a cup at a time, until soft. Then add the carrots.
When the tomatoes begin to boil, lower the heat and let the pan half covered.
Stir the water.
 Add a little salt and pepper freshly ground.
You may leave 1 to 2 hours  cooking to reduce the water and thicken the broth.
You can blender everything in a blender or just 3 cups of sauce and leave the rest to the pieces thoroughly cooked and soft.

You can freeze part in a ice tray, to use when you need. After froze you can put in a plastic bag.
Bon Appetit!

Delicious Strawberry and Coconut Ice Cream

Ingredients:
- 1 cans coconut milk
- 1 can coconut cream
- 1 and ½  cup  strawberries OR or frozen fruits(strawberries, blueberries, etc)
- 1/3 cup raw honey
- 2 tablespoon of coconut oil
(You can using only the fat** from the canned coconut milk)
Directions:
Blend all ingredients.
 Now there are several ways to freeze the ice cream base, the one we like the most is this:
- Pour ice cream base into a bowl and stir occasionally as it freezes. Eat as soon as it reaches a thick consistently.
- Pour ice cream base into a large shallow dish (like a casserole dish). Once frozen scrape the solid mass with a fork until soft enough to serve.
- Freeze ice cream base in popsicle molds.
- Use an ice cream maker.

Bon Appetit!

Woman and Pants in the 40s

In the early 40s, trousers and overalls for women

You've probably heard this story: "Women did not wear pants until the war came and forced them to take up jobs in factories. It was a case of necessity. There was nothing very revolutionary. "

If we are woman we must be feminine, we do not need to wear clothes that show our feminine creativity.  The changes is more historic and economic than revolutionary. Why women must leave their homes to work in the factories the pans would be more ease to wear to adjust to the "new duty".

The pants in the female wardrobe: change of mind

Why we love a modest skirt

A modest skirt is a symbol of femininity and modesty for the woman.
It preserves ours shapes and do not draw our bodies.
The modest skirt must be comfortable enough for the daily movements."

We love how we can seat down with them without offend our modesty. We do not need to use a book or purse to help us  to cover the size of our skirt, it covers what needs to be cover.

One modest skirt must be adjusted in our body without to show our shapes. Because this we love our skirt because it does not call attention for our  most intimate parts.

A skirt really modest do not limit our movements: it covers our knees when we are stand up and when we seat down.

For these things and others we love the modest skirt. And you?

Not feminist, feminine!

This adverting poster below was a from the U.S. government in World War II (which in turn was a copy of a poster similar to the Soviet Union). Known as Rosie The Riveter [something like Rosie the Nailers], he encouraged women to go to the factories, taking the place of men, probably because they were in the war...

More than just encourage, it made use of a whole aesthetic masculinizing ... to put this woman putting "muscles" out and rolling up his sleeves, he was one of the faithful portraits of the decade, as many women who actually went to the factories during the war, could hardly be distinguished from this caricature.

Do you know why wear a skirt below the knee?

To feel comfortable,  feminine  and...

...to be decent and modest.

How to be decent and modest

When I wear a modest skirt, the people ask me why I dress this way.

It is not easy to listen critical all the time! The people want to be different but they do not accept if you are different...

If you are young you listen that to be modest is for old people. But nobody ask why the fashion sells the clothes using teenagers without distinction on the catwalk.

I think: all clothes please someone, the mine please God!

How a young lady I want to be beautiful, but above all I am glad to know that they do not see first my body but over all they see the soul.
