Easy Challah
My CHALLAH, the Jewish bread, for the last weekend. To make bread is a art in which we need to have strength to knead the dough and patience to wait the dough to double size. JESUS is the "Bread of LIFE", He gives us strength and hope to win, He feeds our soul for the eternity.
Ingredients:
3 beaten eggs
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading
1 beaten egg yolk, or more if needed
1 tablespoon melted butter (optional)
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (100 F/40 C)
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon salt
Add the yeast to the water and let to rest for 10 minutes.
Add honey and salt and mix.
Add the beaten eggs and mix
.
Add the flour and start to knead with a spoon and after with hand, knead for about 5/10minutes till de dough to become firm. Let rest for 2 hour or until double size.
Cut the dough in three pieces and make the twist. Leave the loaf rest for more one hour till double size again then spread the yolk on the top of bread and sprinkle sesame seed.
Bake in oven 350 F for 35 minutes.
Enjoy!
JESUS IS "THE BREAD OF LIFE!"
